What we want/do

While other motor sports are dominated by technology, the spirit behind Superleague Formula is about feeling the pride and the passion … and getting closer to the action.

We believe that football and motor racing can combine to deliver something spectacular – an exciting contest with unforgettable moments to treasure. A sport that brings passionate people together and which lives by its sharing, open philosophy: inclusive, involving and accessible.

We want to see a beautiful race. That’s why we’re doing this… What do you think?

Why are we doing it?

While the driving force behind Superleague Formula is the competition between the top clubs – eternal rivals, all together for the first time – our level playing field will help to create an exciting spectacle and a thrilling contest.

Having gained the official approval of the Federation lnternationale de l’Automobile (FIA) – the controlling body for international motorsport – Superleague Formula sees one car represent each football club, with all teams using identical cars and technologies.

As such, the emphasis is firmly placed on each driver’s contribution, skill and ability – a showcase of man and technology that takes motor racing back to its essence.

Weekend of Entertainment

Adding an extra, fun dimension to each race weekend, Superleague Formula also includes a programme of off-track entertainment, with festival activities for all ages to add extra value to the admission ticket.

Inspired by Nascar, our ‘open-to-all’ philosophy will also mean that fans can get access to the paddock, to the rear of the garages (which will be open for viewing) and to meet their football and racing heroes.

Our hospitality offer will avoid elitism, creating a relaxed and informal atmosphere for guests, and both VIPs and in some races fans will be able to take part in our three-seater car programme, and enjoy a fantastic family day out, with activities for both men and women alike…

Superleague Formula is about experiencing more than a race, on and off the track. Everyone’s invited, and everyone’s welcome.
