German racer Max Wissel will make his return to Superleague Formula at the up-coming Grand Prix of Zolder on July 16 / 17. The 21 year old had previously finished third in the championship in both the 2009 and 2010 seasons.

Max made his Superleague Formula debut at just 18 and is the youngest driver ever to appear in the championship.

“I can´t wait to get back out on the track again, it feels like a really long time since Navarra last year”, says Wissel. “I´ve been working hard on my strength, stamina and overall fitness and I feel really ready for this. I´ve had some good results in the past and now I think that I´m better prepared as a driver. The level of drivers in the championship is getting higher and higher and I know that I´ve also improved as a driver. I am looking forward to the higher level of competition.”

Wissel will be in the nº 19 South Korea car, which is run by the Spanish, DeVillota squad.

“It´s good to have Max back in the championship”, says Robin Webb, Superleague Formula Competitions Director. “His results speak for themselves as to his ability and we consider him to be very much a home grown talent. For a driver of his age he has performed fantastically and it will be fascinating watching his progress in what is a very tough championship.”

The Superleague Formula Grand Prix of Zolder takes place on July 16 / 17.
